About this product
Carbon Slate is a deep charcoal-black stone with faint graphite mottling and a dense matt grain. The dark, low-reflectance face frames glazing and recesses well, so it suits window bands, entrance walls, plinths and full elevations where a strong dark facade is wanted. The mottling stops the black from reading as flat paint on a ventilated facade.
The panel is extruded porcelain, single-fired, with an internal honeycomb structure that keeps it rigid at 32 kg/m2. It fixes to a ventilated substructure of vertical profiles and clamps, horizontally or vertically with an open joint. Water absorption is 0.5% or lower, reaction to fire is class A1, hardness is Mohs 5 to 7, and it is frost resistant and colourfast under UV. Stock formats are 40×80, 40×100 and 60×120 cm.
